Technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, making access to our therapy services easier and more secure than ever. With our secure videoconferencing, email, and texting options, your information is protected, allowing you to focus on your healing journey.

Q. WHAT EXACTLY IS ONLINE THERAPY?

  • The terms “online therapy,” “teletherapy,” and “video or internet counseling” are used interchangeably. These terms describe any therapy that involves communicating via email, text, phone, or videoconferencing. You can explore our different therapy and coaching packages HERE. We offer several options, ranging from a specific number of correspondences via email to the Concierge package, which includes a mix of videoconferencing, texting, and emails.

Q. IS ONLINE THERAPY RIGHT FOR ME?

  • This is a crucial question. While the efficacy of online therapy is well-supported, it may not be suitable for everyone. Issues that are not ideal for teletherapy include:

  • Self-harm or danger-to-others issues: If you are contemplating hurting yourself or someone else, please seek in-person help from a qualified therapist or contact The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. For immediate danger to others, visit your local emergency department or call 911.

  • Domestic violence: If you are in a violent relationship, it may be difficult to ensure the safety and privacy needed for therapy sessions. Connecting with a local therapist can provide you with a safe touchpoint and link you to local resources. Alternatively, contact The National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.

Q. IS ONLINE THERAPY AS EFFECTIVE AS REGULAR IN-PERSON THERAPY?

  • Yes! Studies show that teletherapy is as effective as conventional therapy. Experiencing therapeutic breakthroughs in your everyday environment can lead to lasting change.

Q. WHAT DO I NEED ON MY END?

  • You will need a smartphone or computer with sufficient RAM to run a video platform and a strong internet connection. Additionally, ensure you have a quiet and private place for sessions where you can speak freely and focus without distractions. For your safety and the effectiveness of the session, please do not drive or take part in any activities not related to therapy during your therapy sessions. It is important to be stationary and fully present.

Q. HOW SECURE IS OUR SESSION?

  • Your privacy is our top priority. All platforms we use are HIPAA-compliant and designed to be private and secure, allowing you to share confidentially without fear of sessions recordings being used for in an unintended way. More details are included in our consent forms.

Q. WILL MY INSURANCE COVER ONLINE THERAPY?

  • Probably. To be sure you will need to check with your insurance by visiting their website and reviewing the Mental Health Benefits section. If you have any questions, our team can assist.
