Psychological Testing & Evaluations

At Winter Wellness, we specialize in the assessment and evaluation of certain mental health diagnoses and issues related to personal growth. All assessments are delivered by Master’s level therapists and may be the focus of therapeutic work, to support the onboarding of supportive services (like medication), or for deeper understanding of yourself or your relationship. Most, but not all, medical prescribers accept our ADHD and OCD assessments in their decision-making regarding medication. Please check with your individual provider. We take considerate care in communicating your results with them and will forward your report, if desired. The same applies to schools and the workplace, if you are seeking accommodations. Please talk with your resource person and inquire as to assessment requirements. Please note that we DO NOT perform assessments in any legal proceedings nor for the purpose of SSI Disability determination. All assessments are fee for service and payment is due day of the first session.

ADHD Assessment

(Adult only)

At Winter Wellness, we provide a comprehensive assessment process designed to identify ADHD and related concerns. Our certified therapists conduct an initial interview with you and a collateral resource, such as a family member or close friend, to gather insights into your challenges and behaviors.

Following this interview, you will complete a series of scientifically validated tests that evaluate your overall intelligence, executive functioning skills, and sensory processing issues. This thorough approach ensures that we gather the most accurate picture of your cognitive functioning.

OCD Assessment

(Adult only)

If you or a loved one are struggling with intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors, seeking an assessment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can be a crucial step toward understanding and managing these challenges. Our therapy center offers thorough assessments conducted by experienced therapists who specialize in OCD.

During the assessment, a therapist will guide you through a structured interview and utilize standardized tools such as the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (YBOCS). This comprehensive approach allows us to evaluate not just the presence of OCD symptoms, but also the specific type and severity of the condition. Understanding these details is essential for developing an effective treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.

Relationship

Evaluation

This relationship evaluation is designed to assess the overall health of your connection as a couple. It can be particularly beneficial when you are facing challenges in a committed relationship, even if you do not feel that therapy is necessary at this time. The evaluation will help you both reflect on your relationship dynamics and make informed decisions about your future together.

During the evaluation process, both partners will participate in interviews with a trained therapist. Additionally, you will complete various assessments that focus on key aspects such as communication patterns, emotional closeness, attachment styles, and conflict resolution strategies. These tools aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of your relational dynamics.

Once the assessments are completed, you will receive a detailed report outlining the findings from your sessions. This report will include insights and recommendations tailored to improve your relationship and address the challenges you may be facing. It is important to note that no diagnosis will be assigned to either partner, nor will any definitive recommendations be made regarding the continuation of the relationship. The purpose of this evaluation is to support your journey towards understanding and growth, irrespective of the outcome.
