15 Reasons the Universe Validates My Career Choice

Being in the helping profession is hard at times because you are constantly dealing with people who have real hurts and struggles. We're talking great, unique people who have hurts and struggles.

When a client has a setback, it is all too easy for a therapist or coach to blame themselves. Was it something I said? Didn’t say? Did I push too hard? Not hard enough?

I get on my soapbox all the time about how imperative self-care is for everyone, not just therapists, so I won’t go that route today. I, instead, want to share some cool research I simply felt led to do this morning.   

I took it into my head to look at the numerology of my MFTI registration number (my license number given by the state). What I found was super encouraging and major validation for my chosen career. My registration number equals 9.  I read a long and incredibly detailed article about how the number 9 relates to me when I have my working hat on. It explains so much!

Numerology

If you aren’t familiar with Numerology, here’s a quick explanation:

In the way, way back, Pythagoras and his buddies decided that mathematics was the universal language of the gods and that everything had a mathematical relationship. It was up to the mind of an individual to seek and find those relationships.

So how do you do that? Well, if you are looking at a series of numbers; say your house address, your birthday, your license, what have you…..add them all up. You will usually get a two or three digit number which you can add in on itself to eventually get to a single digit number. That single digit corresponds to certain energies.

Here’s an example:

My MFTi number is 86571

8+6+5+7+1=27

2+7=9 (see what I did there?)

My Numerology career number is 9.

o   leadership (um, yeah, little bit!)

o   the ability to see clearly and understand others (I think this is a talent most therapists have)

o   integration of the three worlds – physical, intellectual, spiritual (wow, I so believe in the holistic approach)

o   introspection (for an extrovert, I am constantly inside my head)

o   personal integrity (former Girl Scout, here)

So, after reading those great things about what my Intern License number means, I am super stoked about what the future holds for the rest of my career.  I mean, I felt this way before but seeing it in print brings a certain amount of validation that I gotta admit, makes me proud of my unique self!
